Designing boundaries

Once again I find myself talking about my workplace when talking about this reading. We have a lot of remote workers, as well as workers on site, and we do a daily video conference (meeting) as well as a weekly video meeting. In the reading I learned that boundary objects that are used to overcome knowledge boundaries are the fact that the community (work staff) must fit, meaning there must be able to mesh and work together as one big group dynamic. I felt that this is obvious when running a company, however I am also learning that not all companies share this practice when hiring and retaining workers. Technology has given some people the opportunity to work from home in a permanent office and even in the case of an emergency they can do work from anywhere there is internet access. This advancing thought process I feel helps with the job market as well as bringing in more revenue for your company. This course has definitely helped me when it comes to helping brand myself and run a smooth running empire which I hope to do one day, as I hope you all aim for as well.
