Group dynamics

What is a group? In my opinion it can consist of many definitions. In the reading the word group is defined as two or more individuals who are connected to one another by social relationships.  Within the word group are many sub groups, Primary and secondary. Other sub definitions of group, such as categorization, interaction, Structure, and more. Although the word group can be defined as a group of two or more people, there is more info needed to specify what type of group it is. Is it a planned group? Meaning is it a group that forms as members of the group interact with the same subset of individuals. Groups are going to be a huge part of planning your business as you hire people of all races, gender and beliefs. It is important to maintain a balance and understand each of the specialized groups to be able to create a more hospitable work environment.

  1. Yeah the group I guess needs some specific attributes to be considered a group. Mainly what I noticed from the reading is that all individuals have to have something in common, which makes sense. You can't exactly have someone in a group about gardening, if you don't garden yourself. And yes I do agree with you about the planning and balance needed for these groups. I've said it before in previous articles, but having differing view points is incredibly necessary to have the best outcomes from groups, you can't be around to many of the exact same people.

  2. After I read the article on "Group Dynamics" I was definitely more shook as I never really viewed group collaboration and the dynamics to it with so many definitions as this article presents. You did a great job expressing some of the diverse definitions of group collaboration giving readers like myself a quicker and easier understanding on those multiple meanings. I also like how you included some questions in your blog post challenging the readers as well as yourself to continue to think about the topic. Great job.

  3. I really liked your post! It highlighted some of the similar things I noticed when reading this article I was amazed to learn about how many types of groups and sub groups exist. I like how when talking about what a group is and what it can be defined as you posed it as a question. It made your post very analytical and interesting to read. I like what you said at the end about groups having to be a big part of your life wether you like it or not because having a business you will need to hire everyone from all different backgrounds. Im all about equality and that was a very good point you made that I neglected to think of myself. You are also right in the fact that we need to understand the types of groups we need to be in, in order to be successful. Overall, Great post with some great insight.
