How successful virtual teams work
I can
speak from experience that team collaboration makes the work place a much
better place. I work for a company where we started with a team of about 3 or 4
people and are now at a group of about 25 I believe 5 of which are remote workers. Even at a group of 25
which is not that big, we still have a sense of family dynamic in the work
space and it makes my work day way more enjoyable. We all talk to each other
and great one another in the mornings with “good morning” or “how are you?” We
also take part in daily morning huddles and go around the room playing games to
get to know one another on a deeper level, then get back to work. When working
we still speak to one another between calls and yet are able to hit out goals
and exceed them as well. We also cross train in other clerical work for our off
season and we help one another with the task and learn together which gives us
a sense of leadership but not being bossed around by management. The company I
work for is definitely on top of the leading trends and I hope to continue to
work for them for a very long time.
Virtual teams, tough from what I have experienced thus far. The readings that focused on the topic of virtual collaborations stood out the most to me for the reason of my dedication to understand them. I do too agree that team collaboration makes the workplace a better place only depending on your fellow workers. They need to be dedicated, hard working, and wanting to end with success. Great post, you expressed great points and examples from the reading regarding tools to a successful virtual team.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with you that team collaboration makes the workplace more successful and better. Where I work we also have morning huddles where we go around the room and say what we are currently working on, that way we can collaborate on the different projects if someone has knowledge about something I am working on etc. In terms of online team collaboration though, this has been a challenge for me. I think it has the ability to be very successful though and the author makes a lot of great points in her article about it.
ReplyDeleteArsenio,
ReplyDeleteI think that you bring up a great point we can all agree on when you say that collaboration in the work place is vital for success as a team in the work setting. I also like that you were able to compare it to your work and give it a relatable feel as many of us including myself work and can see where collaboration can help make a more efficient work place.
I also agree that collaboration in the work place is vital for success. I think that this is really important for people to know and realize. I think as technology grows, it will become more challenging for people to collaborate with each other and if more people knew of to do it more effectively, then it would create a more efficient environment.
ReplyDeleteI really liked how you wrote from personal experience in this blog post, It sounds like your workplace is a very fun place to be. Simple things like “good morning" and “how are you doing?” are very important if you want to work well with your co workers. I also liked how you guys play games to learn about each other on a deeper level. It seems like you guys have really mastered what it takes to be a successful team. Its cool that you guys work together on ideas instead of being told what to do by management, its sounds like you are in the right place! If I'm being honest I'm jealous of that kind of environment! I have never had the chance to experience it. Great post!
