Humans Vs. The Robots
I had no idea that we had Robots that can read emotions. It
just goes to show how far we have come with technology. Again he has asked what
is it humans CAN do that computers CAN’T do? I also found it fascinating that Watson,
the Computer who he played jeopardy against, was not connected to the internet,
PLUS to make it fair they built in a delay so the computer would not be able to
answer in a spit second. I also found it interesting when they began to talk
about storytelling and how a computer can tell a story, but it is our personal
experience that gives it life and brings the story to life. I had never thought
of that. I also find it interesting that we are coming to a time where we no
longer ask what can a computer do, but rather what is it that human can do better
than a computer. Pretty soon a computer will be able to do virtually anything
and we as humans have to keep the upper hand and ask ourselves how can we
perform better than the machines. All that aside though, how cool is it that
this man is traveling the world and guest starring on radio shows and is a
known publicized writer? I am sure he has worked hard to get to this point. You
can tell he is educated on his topic and the way he portrays his self is very
professional. I will definitely be taking notes from him.
I liked your point where you said that we changed in an era of asking what can computers do and is now what is it that humans can do better than a computer can. I never really thought of it that way before this class and it is so fascinating how much technology has advanced and grown. I think that it is very beneficial to a certain extent and in some areas it is too much and is hurting society. I think that when it comes to interactions that it is greatly effecting people's ways of communicating for the worse. I find that this generation is the least educated when it comes to face-to-face interactions.
