"Spreadable Media: Introduction.

When reading this I couldn't help but think back to a simpler time.
I know people will say I not old enough to say that since i'm only 27
but I remember a time when we were not controlled by a little hand held device. In today's day and age the whole world is connected with one simple click. It's
a weird concept, but think about it. Someone is China can share video of something
amazing and share it, it becomes viral with millions of shares and all of a sudden that
video is all over the world and is the newest fad. We live in a world where we
have to show off and pretend we are living a better life than others. We can no longer
go without technology and that is a scary thought. All these advances are great,
but we also have to be careful with how we let it control us.

  1. Yeah it is kind of funny to think how controlled by a hand held device we are. I'm not going to try and pretend that I'm not. My girlfriend will frequently berate me for having an obsession with my phone. If it's dead, I immediately try to get a charger and I hate not having it on. The reason I'm like this is I feel like I just don't have the greatest attention span and get bored frequently. The computers we can put in our pockets provide endless sources of entertainment, especially since live in a world where everyone is connected and always posting new info.

  2. Arsenio - you make a good point about these devices controlling our lives but you have to realize the important impact they have made on our society. But it is funny to think about times before cell phones were around. I can't imagine not being able to communicate with others so easily. In my opinion, the advances in technology were useful for society but we may have began to go too far.

  3. You make a great point about how we are now controlled by a small hand held device. I also remember a time when cell phones were not even around. When I was around 5 years old, my parents got their first "cell-phone" to share, and would only bring it with them if they were going out somewhere on their own and would potentially need to call our landline. This "cell-phone" also looked like a huge brick.

  4. I found your persona on the given article focusing on the topic of spreadable media very good. I too find all your points presented extremely important and crazy to think about now. Our society now is so stuck and obsessed with such a small device rather than more important things. It's crazy how much theses devices yes have helped our society but equally have harmed it as well. I really enjoyed the light you shined within this specific issue with the media and technology.

  5. Hi Arsenio,
I think you made a great points about how we obsessed with a small hand held device, and I think I am one of them. I really like you said about "the whole world is connected with one simple click", this exactly explained how easy we can connecting with the all part of the world. I think the advance of the technology is great and helpful, but we really Should learn how to control ourselves to over using it. Thank you for your sharing and Great Job!

  6. It was definitely a simpler time when not everyone had a smart phone. However, with times changing I think this means technology must change as well and we must adapt to our current situation. Spreadable media has developed with the technological advances and it is definitely interesting to think about what our society has developed into. I love how you mentioned we cant let this control us because it is such an accurate statement. Advancing with the world around us is important but losing control over it is where we start to see downfalls. Great post!

  7. First and foremost let me just say I really enjoyed this post! You gave a perspective that not all of us are able to understand because you grew up in multiple different technology eras. My sister is also 27 and I remember when she was in high school, myspace was just starting to pick up, Facebook was invented her junior year of high school. Her first cell phone was the smallest, clunkiest piece of crap and it was only used for emergencies, I miss those days. Even though I didn't get to experience those days I wish I had. My sister got to grow up in an environment where technology didn't run our everyday lives, when people wanted to hangout they called the house phone. Im constantly amazed at how far our technology has come in the past 10 years. I agree, its amazing that we've come so far but we have to proceed with caution. I really enjoyed your perspective, Good job!
