The Future work
The Future work:
Watching the video made me think about life. As he
said “We are entering an era where the skills our economy values highly are
changing.” It is true, we are seeing technology taking over. So Ask yourself,
what will people do? On the Larry King Now show, Professor Stephen Hawking
warns us the AI is getting very close to becoming an actual reality. He states,
“'Once machines reach a critical
stage of being able to evolve themselves we cannot predict whether their goals
will be the same as ours.” This, to me should be eye opening. We are living in
a world where we can no longer be sure that the advances in technology will be
to our benefit or our demise. Of course I don’t think robots are going to start
killing us all, but who is to say that cannot happen? Who is to say that we are
on the verge of creating something that we as humans cannot control? Geoff says
that humans CAN empathize, working in groups, and tell stories. So if we get
into a realm where technology can out smart us. We have come so far and hope we
can continue to grow as a community for the better.
Aresenio, your post was very eye opening to me in the way that it introduced new thoughts that I never really thought of before. I always heard (mostly from Fairly Oddparents) that the world is going to experience real issues when robots begin to have feeling and take over the world. This is a real thing that can happen because we have already begun creating machines that can act as a police officer and detect facial expressions and emotion. If that's not creepy, I don;t know what it.
